Pressure from Enforcement Authorities - HSE, EHO, Fire Officer
If your organisation has come to the notice of the various enforcement agencies and they are not satisfied that your systems are sufficiently developed to comply with expected legal standards, they are likely to take enforcement action to ensure legal compliance, compel you to carry out a fire risk assessment, immediately cease a dangerous activity or implement a safe system of work by a certain date.
This can vary from informal actions: simple verbal advice (almost always good) or written communication to which you are expected to reply, to formal actions: Improvement Notices, Prohibition Notices, formal cautions and prosecutions.
The imposition of any of these measures can seem rather daunting and failure to comply with a formal notice is in itself an offence, likely to lead to prosecution.
LRS can work with your managers to explain the meaning of the enforcement action and any likely consequences, liaise with the enforcement authority and assist you to achieve compliance.
